Flew into Colorado Springs on Tues to visit my 86 yr old sister and her
husband, who are both sadly getting rather frail. Wednesday evening City posted
a notice to residents stating that contractors would be lining sewers on Thurs
and toilets etc could not be flushed 9am to 5pm.Thursday arrived and
contractors started work at 7:30 am.
At around noon tremendous gurgling sounds from lower floor of split level
house. Rushed downstairs to find toilet in ground floor shower room vomiting
poo everywhere. I ended up standing in middle of floor, bare footed and wearing
shorts, trying to bucket brown floaters outside.
NOT a winning battlle. Fluid flowed to downstairs bedroom (where we are
staying) Utility room, Den and lower hallway. whole of downstairs has been
affected !
The last 24 hrs has been a blur of contractors cutting away carpets, cleaning
up mess , testing for asbestos, and installing dehumidifiers.....The noise is
like sleeping next to a railway locomotive.I fear a lot more disruption is in
the pipeline. Regards John Duggan, Wales, UK
