Tide Rolling In. Turnagain Arm. Mile Marker 13, Hope Highway. Kenai
Peninsula, Alaska. Olympus E-3 with 14-42 lens. Converted and
processed in Adobe Lightroom.
I did process this in both Lightroom (CC) and Olympus Viewer 3. Adobe
has improved the converter so much that there is no contest as to
which is "better". However, OV3 did provide a decent guide to image
processing. Without that guide, I would have gone a totally different
direction with the Lightroom processing.
You ask why is it so much better? Sharpness, for one thing. You can
get the pixel sharpness so high as to entirely defeat any imagined
loss of sharpness from the sensor's AA filter. The other major
advantage is the removal of chromatic aberration. Beyond those two
things, it's mostly nuance.
