I look into the eyes of goats at least twice a day, and there ain't much
"vacuous" about them!
They know their names, understand a dozen or so words, have personalities, and
learn how to manipulate you. About as smart as an Irish Setter, but no where
near as smart as any terrier. :-)
If we could somehow go back to eating wild animals, then we could fool
ourselves into thinking they are "vacuous." But that ain't gonna happen without
a decimation of human population.
