Nah, it's just history repeating itself.
But it does point out some of the challenges that globalization
brings. I think that Anchorage has a slight advantage over the average
city in that it's actually a very young city (and Alaska is a young
state) and our history has always been multi-ethnic. It also helps
that most people who live in Alaska are kinda weird. Think about the
strange kids nobody wanted to hang out with, back when you were in
school. You know, the ones that smelled funny or were nerds or were
just kinda "off". All those strange kids moved to Alaska.
Our biggest issues are homelessness and theft.
