My nemesis is forgetting to turn off special modes.
I've been working to train myself to notice the info in/on EVF, LCD about Modes. I also have the advantage of MySets,
which were foolishly (for usefulness, as opposed to marketing) dropped in favor of Custom Settings on the Mode dial. I
try to get myself to automatically press the Fn button to turn my special settings off, whether I expect to use them on
the next shot or not.
It's helped a lot. Still a few extra "stacks", but far fewer than before.
I was doing some non-critical stuff for web, and had the dimensions set to 1024
wide. Then I forgot, and shot an entire one-time concert that one of our
foreign homestay students was playing in.
This is pure foolishness. I ALWAYS shoot Raw. I may very occasionally shoot Raw + JPEG of one sort or another, but it
doesn't matter if I forget to turn the JPEGs off. You can even throw the Raws away later, but you ensure always having
'em if needed.
