Last Sunday was one of those occasions. I went for my morning bike ride, a
reasonably easy 74 km, and then I came home around lunchtime, Roberto the Rice
Master was already starting the preliminaries to make a paella for us.
Altogether we were 10 people, and of course the pleasure lies as much in
watching the preparations as in the subsequent enjoyment of the final product.
We had bought the ingredients, everyone brought some wine, Roberto brought his
paellera (we have one but not as large as this), and everyone was happy. I went
to bed around 11 pm, and I was the first to go—one of the advantages of having
the party in our own place. This was basically a delayed birthday party for my
wife (her birthday was the preceding Wednesday) and it worked out much better
than a “real” party. As I usually do on such occasions, I put together a
gallery for the participants, but I think that the images, or at least some of
them, are good enough to share with the wider group:

And yes, the food was delicious!
Cheers,
