Things are different over there. We have sorting and counting machines, and
armored car companies to do much of this heavy lifting. Although banks here are
handling less cash today, it's not because they discourage it, it's because
folks don't want to carry that, as a card is more convenient.
But don't get me started on putting all that stuff on a cell phone. Seems to m
e like a recipe for disaster.

Can't speak for banks over there, Bill, but cash handling over here is an
expensive materials handling problem. Cash is awkward to handle, a pain to
separate and count, heavy to ship around, liable to theft, requires special
facilities to receive, store, reissue etc etc. If your business generates
significant volumes of cash, expect your bank to want to be rewarded for
handling it!
