Thanks, Chris. The sign really has two messages: the 1.5 m requirement is
actually permanent and applies everywhere in Spain. I suppose they included it
here as a reminder. What is limited to weekends and holidays 9-14 is the 70
km/h speed limit. At other times, the standard limit of 80 (or is it 100? - I
am not even sure) applies. The reason for only having the lower speed in the
morning is that this is when people are out cycling. Hardly anyone goes out in
the afternoon (I do, sometimes, but only after work on weekdays).
