I've been using my Tamron SP AF70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD consistently for
over 6 years under some rough conditions at the track, had it cleaned twice
while under warranty once at 3 years and again just before 6 years when the
warranty expired. As far I am concerned the performance is comparable to
the Canon equivalent at a fraction of the price and the 6 year warranty is a
big bonus.

Subject: [OM] Off-topic: Lens Recommendation
I've got an aspiring photographer grandson who has chosen to use C*non
equipment. He's in need of a telephoto lens in the 100-200 or 100-300 mm
range. I know, since he uses a 6D, that I need to find an EF lens, but I am
baffled by the range of choices. I've no idea how to go about picking among
lenses from that maker.
Since I know some of you also shoot C*non, can anyone make a recommendation
for a low-moderately priced version? I'll likely be sourcing via KEH, if
that makes a difference.
