Well, a friend of mine asked if I knew of anyone in the market for a
telescope since her boss was helping with an estate sale and they had a
Meade LX200 8" SC 'scope that they'd like to sell.
I raised my hand and said, "MEMEMEMEMEME!!!"
We negotiated a really, really good price provided it's all in working
order. Right now, it's living outside of Milwaukee, so Sheri and I are
going to drive up there next Sunday and take a look, and possibly bring
home a new toy.
Thing is, Sheri's wanted a telescope almost as long as I have, so this will
be a nerdy activity we can share. Now begins the research into the bits and
pieces I need to mount the E-M5.
I pulled an Olympus binocular microscope with camera tube from the dumpster
here - some lab tossed it, but it's in perfect working order including
three objectives, so I'm going to clean it up a touch and get that sucker
on ebay this weekend to help pay for the other 'scope - I figure it only
makes sense. I've got a bunch of other goodies to try and unload as well.
