Curiously there are some plug-ins that induce this "feature." Looks like
reticulations from a thermal shock. Some noise reduction algorithms might just
latch onto this highly patterned low freq "noise." I trust you tried to tweak
Neatimage to maximize the removal
and not smudge detail excessively. One might try a free download of other
software such as Noiseware where one can tell it the noise level is very high
at a given freq (more than the auto detected levels) and also adjust the amount
of reduction at a given freq.
