What could be worse than two major hurricanes in one season?
How about three major hurricanes?
Hurricane Jose, presently weakening south of Bermuda, is making a sweeping
full turn clockwise. It will be impacting the Bahamas this Friday and most of
this weekend, gathering strength and heading for the Atlantic coast as a strong
category 3 or weak category 4. The NCEP forecasts for Jose has been somewhat
consistent, having it make landfall somewhere between Cape Hatteras and Cape
Cod. Those forecasts have pretty much narrowed down to a category 3 landfall
on Cape Hatteras next Tuesday, then over Washington and Baltimore, then
northwestward to Pittsburgh.
And we're just in the middle of the season, with another Cape Verde storm
forming near Africa.
