I like flowers that are a little bedraggled like that, Moose. They seem

I like 'em all, from perky fresh to dried up husks. :-)
These were in fact, rather fresh. Most of the lily buds have by now opened, and are starting to drop petals. I think
sunflowers may drop their heads when cut. They were also fresh and full, not at all dried out.
They are very active on the plant. Drive by a field (there are huge ones we drive by on I5 N) in the morning and they
face East. They move to follow the sun, and by late afternoon, face West. Absent sun and their whole plant, perhaps they
don't know what to do, or fall into depression. ;-)
But I would have preferred a different background with which to set them off.
Moi aussi. But needs must. That's the tablecloth that was on that table. Behind it is a big, double bookshelf that would
be much more busy/distracting.
Had I more time and interest, I might have nosed around for something more neutral. But all our sheets are patterned,
and wouldn't have been better. Probably a plain one or two somewhere . . .
And were you expecting to use that vase for beer, perhaps?
That would make the classic Yard of Ale look like a sip!
