There are several nuances to this, but here a couple of additional factoids.
1. The dull, boring location is Denver, Colorado. An obvious
photographic low-rent district. The exciting location is Anchorage,
Alaska.
2. The Denver job actually allows for WFH (work from home) and I can
be anywhere with decent broadband connectivity--including Alaska, or
Arizona, or New Mexico... The Anchorage job requires relocation there.
3. The pay is acceptable either location.
4. The Denver job sets the stage for a new career direction for the
next 15 years, but the Alaska job is more of the same. OK, but I can
see myself ready to jump ship in two years.
We went condo hunting this weekend and three days narrowing down areas
of Denver that we would be fine living in. Honestly, we really do like
it there.
