Taken from today's Independent :

"Contrary to the US President’s portrayal of the statement, the London 
Mayor had actually said that people in the capital shouldn’t be alarmed 
by the visibly increased police presence in the city. Mr Khan did not 
tell people that they should not be alarmed by the attacks."
If seeing large contingents of heavily armed police is not disturbing 
and alarming one might ask why they are on patrol in the first instance.
