Earlier this week I took an extensive 39.5 mile bike ride, taking
advantage of the sudden drop in daytime temperatures. I stopped at a dog park,
only to find that there were very few people there, which is a bit unusual.
But, there were numerous red-eared turtles in the pond, and they seem to have
become familiar with people. This one swam right up to me, possibly expecting
a handout:

I took this with the new/use E-500. I thought I had the settings correct,
but the light metering was extremely far off. I set the ASA to 100 and used my
mental estimates for shutter speed for the rest of the day. When I got home I
found that I had selected spot metering instead of centre-weighted averaging.
