Sony really doesn't pay much attention to user web sites or even in what groups
their cameras are used except if they need to apparently. They did pay
attention to alt lens users when their stable of lenses was squat, but less so
now.
Sony seemed to have NO CLUE that do some the sensor and glass available for
astrophotography and "landscape astrophotography" that their cams were very
popular. It was well known that in "B" mode the noise reduction algorithm
kicked in after 30 sec and ate stars. Not a biggie as most exposures were
less than that to keep the stars sharp. With a firmware "upgrade" they made
that 3.2 sec!!! Cooked!!! So much for using the cam for this application.
Perhaps 100 people contacted them about being able to input focus distance for
alt lens use to enable 5 axes IS via firmware change or an app, but they did
not respond in any way. They were inundated with calls and petitions with this
current bone head change. Perhaps they will fix this one.
