Late last September my wife and I flew United Airlines from Portland, OR
to Newark, NJ. The plane was packed, the seats in cattle class were
narrow and the pitch too short, the on-board food was non-existent, and
the plane looked to have missed a visit from the cleaning crew for the
previous seven days. Air Canada is a premier airline in comparison and
that is saying something !

I don’t imagine that that will be the worst part of it, Charlie. My
suspicion is that the United brand will suffer a huge amount.
I already avoid them, slightly because of the incident I just related,
but mostly 'cause last time I flew them, the seat pitch was shorter than
my femur.
My brother, OTOH, is a multi-million miler on UA. But he gets special
treatment and is almost always upgraded.
