I am surprised it has taken this long. I have visited the US every summer for
the past several years, and inevitably I have been dragged into shopping malls
by my wife. If by accident I entered a Sears store, I would be struck by how
forlorn, tired and EMPTY it looked, regardless of where it was (the states I
have visited in recent years include California, Florida, New York,
Pennsylvania, NJ and Illinois, although I have not been in a Sears in every one
of them). A department store without customers in it obviously does not have
much of a future.
Cheers,
Nathan
