My cars and I have gotten along just fine with me in full control.
Despite the fact that it was a lousy car overall, my 1979 VW Rabbit got
better fuel economy with a hydromechanical fuel inject having three moving
parts than does my 2000 Toyota pickup with an electronic fuel injector.
However, this pickup is the best vehicle I have ever owned.
My earlier 1974 Audi 100LS got even better fuel economy with a 2-barrel
fuel injector, which I rebuilt one afternoon in a bathroom sink. It would go
90 MPH without floating the valves and was the second best vehicle I ever
owned, despite the very odd front brakes.
And I have always been able to parallel park all by myself.
