Personally, I don't think anything particularly special is needed for the kind of shot that started this thread,
something relatively small close and really big stuff in the far distance, both in focus. I've done a few test shots
from our porch into the rainy world. A stack that has everything in focus from about 6" to infinity with the Panny
14/2.5 lens is technically very easy to shoot with the Focus Stacking ability of the E-M5 II.
There are stacking problems, but they aren't insurmountable, and would be the same with a stack created with a $2,500+
Cambo set-up plus some sort of A7.
