As I continue to explore the tools available in Lightroom and Photoshop, I decided to rescue this Kodak print image
that was in my Mother's family album, from the 1930s. This covered bridge was about 1/2 mile from the farm where we
lived at the time, and I passed through it on a school bus twice a day. I'm the young fellow in front, left.

What a great family memory!
'Twere mine, I'd tone down the contrast a little and raise the shadowed parts of faces.

Binging up the shadows shows the interior and light coming through the
structure, but brings up junk to close out.

Though this appears to be a "studio" photo, restoration was more difficult because someone had written names on the
photo. This shows my dad, standing tallest, with his parents and siblings. His mother, on the right, died on his 8th
birthday, in 1905.

Looks like a good job.
In case you are interested, the third edition of Ctein's "Digital Restoration, From Start to Finish" is out, including
some new tricks/techniques he discovered since the last edition.

Best trick? Get your mom to put the negs behind the prints in the family album.
