I am getting pretty close now in LR, it seems the new higher resolution
RAWs from the X-T2 need very different treatment to the RAWs from the
X-T1 in that they respond to more traditional sharpening. I used this
page as a starting point

recommended settings I am getting much better results, personally I
would like to keep the workflow quick and in LR so I am willing to
compromise slightly on quality for the majority of images but they are
looking much better now.
