Got down to 21F/-6C here at the house the other morning and a brisk NE'r 
was blowing. Coldest it's been here for a few years. Really seeing the 
woodpile shrink. I was getting complacent so now I have to go out and 
cut down a couple of trees. :(
On the plus side the NE wind brings clear weather so just for fun some 
friends and I did a "winter ascent of the north face" of the little hill 
(300m) behind our place.  A good cold time was had by all including my 
friend Mike who is nearly 90! There is no trail for the top bit and it 
is "veggie belay" steep but he took it slow and easy. It's about 10km loop.
Here we are on the way down: My neighbor Tom w/ GusGus, friend Lars and 
Mike.
