Thanks, Rick. I’m shortly going part time at work (3 days a week) so I’m
determined to make better use of my cameras and my computer.
I enjoyed reading about the red Chippy; it’s used as part of a sort of
Barnstormers formation now, but back in the day it was a serious attempt to
keep the heir to the throne safe. Of course his brother, Andrew, was involved
in the Falklands and could be seen hovering near the burning ships after 2
troop transports, Sir Galahad and Tristram were caught napping by Argentinian
A4s while waiting to offload troops in Bluff Cove.
I’ve found some shots of the same Chippy in the air show at Little Gransden
(about 2 miles from my house):
