That brings back some memories! last time I used a HP protocol analyser
was troubleshooting an AS/400 SDLC connection into a Canadian brand
voice/data multiplexer - this was in the days before VoIP. We ended up
changing them over to Frame Relay as the SDLC code in the mux was
somewhat less than stable. I only had a V24 protocol analyser and the
link was X.21... I set up a complete kludge of active interface
converters and break out boxes with jumper wires everywhere :) I got
my analysis done though! wish I had a phone camera in those days, the
mess would have been a good laugh for the network guys on the list.
