I have a sneaking suspicion that the sensor in the SL and the XT-2 are
using the same underlying design. They both have a distinct film grain
look to them. I suspect that it has to do with how color noise is
addressed on-chip. This is different than what I'm seeing with the
Sony and Nikon variants.
When Sony did the sensor for the new Phase One back, it's like
everything changed. There is a "Kodak CCD" look that is starting to
emerge in the Leicas, Fujis and Phase Ones.
