Chris:
I've had two family members contract shingles in the last couple of
years. Not nice at all. As I'm sure you know, over-50s are particularly
at risk if they've had chicken pox as a child. If you haven't done so,
get the shingles vaccine asap. Highly recommended by our doctor (and
generally through the health care system).
Speedy recovery,
Martin

That shop window is rather good.
Perhaps I’ll do a bit more night photography, while the lights are on. We were
supposed to be in Portugal but we are both unwell (my wife is suffering from the
threat of shingles after 2 weeks of head cold), so we have time on our hands.

and I really fancy a new Fuji X-Pro2 or X-T2, but I’ve decided that I don’t
need to splash out. I went out last night and tonight and took just a few shots with my X-T1
and X-Pro1. The focus speed was good enough, even at night (I had my 35/1.4 on the X-Pro1,
the 18-135 on my X-T1); the viewfinders worked beautifully in those conditions, and the
resulting noise at ISO6400 was for me negligible:

I quite like the reflections in the car window in the first one.
Reminds me a bit of this, taken with an older P&S.
