Almost every image downsized for the web needs some sharpening to
compensate for sampling losses. I do the same thing, but with the
plug-in, and usually fine tune with layer opacity and/or masking.
This seems to remove the EXIF data from my posts.
I asked the FM people whether there was a way to avoid this:
"If you use the stand-alone program, then the EXIF data is not
retained (due to the third-party image library we use not supporting
that option). However, if you use Focus Magic as a plugin, then you
can retain the EXIF data."
Not very helpful. If I were using the stand alone version, I'd be
saving with a specific addition to the end of the file name and use
Windoze Send To function to use EXIFTools to copy the EXIF to the new
file with a click.
