Tina,
Great news! My cardiologist also gave me Metoprolol several years ago
because my heartbeat is "funny", and it works well, and is relatively
cheap. Just keep an eye on the pneumonia symptoms. Your good food ought
to help a lot.

An update: I brought Tom home from the hospital today! The cardiologist
prescribed Metoprolol, a beta-blocker, which brought his heart rate right
down. There is still spotty pneumonia on the x-rays but he's on an
antibiotic, too. Right now he has had beef broth and cheese toast which he
said were the best food he has ever had. I think he may still be
delirious. He is "watching" the football games while snoring loudly.
This was all scary but a reminder that life is short and we should not
hesitate to grab every minute to enjoy the time we have.
Thanks for your concern!
