Hi Chris,
Seems like a lot of money for a 2-place a/c. But it moves! Their
advertising says 250 kts at 15,000 ft, and the red line seems to be
around 280 kts.
I understand he had to really hold it back to fly formation with the
Bonanzas.

That looks like quite a party again, Jim.
I looked up the Lancair and found it to be a very powerful machine: 310hp on a
machine weighing the same as the Tutor that I fly (Grob 115E) with only 180hp.
I was interested to see how much they go for and found this:

Which looks very slick, and it has airbrakes!

Beechcraft owners and their friends are in the midst of Beech Party 2016, which
started on Wednesday. Airplanes of many types, both old and new, are flying
in, and flying about. I did not go over to their end of the field, but enjoyed
seeing some nice airplanes that their owners took pride in showing off. I was
told that the Museum's Beech Starship was up this morning, but I did not see
that epic flight.
Most of the activity today consisted of formation flying and flybys. Here,
three Bonanzas and a Lancair made a pass over the celebration.

The same airplanes taxiing in, with the beginnings of Fall color in the

The Lancair Legacy is very colorful, still sporting its Reno racing number.

And a small Van's RV-7A passed by on its way to join the party.
