Hi Brian,
As I recall, you were into forestry, so I tried to get the name
correct. It is the most common pine in the southeastern US, a Loblolly
Pine (pinus taeda). These were planted by the homeowner about 40 years
ago, and are deteriorating. His widow had several removed last year.
