Nice images, Chris, but a small correction. Circumcision is not routinely
done unless the parents object. Now days it is only done at the parents
request. To do otherwise will earn you a hefty malpractice suit and
possibly assault/ battery charges. An Irish surgeon friend described to me
the 4M's of circumcision: Moses, Mohamed, Mom and Money. In First world
countries circumcision is of little or no benefit. They used to say it
prevented carcinoma of the glans penis, but that is so rare here as to be
inconsequential (I've only seen three cases in 25 years of practice). In
Third world countries it is a different story. Skin infections of the penis
are common and rates of penile carcinoma are much higher. Circumcision
reduces overall penile skin infection, probably by toughening the skin of
the glans penis, but even there I think the benefit is probably small.
