Well, I've started the packing process for next week's journey to
Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I'm going to spend more time with the
waterfalls around Ironwood than before. There are about a half-dozen
that I've never photographed, so they'll be on my agenda. I don't know
how far up in Copper Country I'll get this time, but I might get up to
Copper Harbor.
If I do get to Copper Harbor, and if trail conditions aren't too bad,
I'll go visit the point and see just how bad the forest fire got that
Joel and I fought.
I'm packing a couple of bags of cameras. Not sure how everything is
fitting together, yet, but I'm thinking something like this:
Bag 1 - The 35mm Kit:
Canon 6D
Olympus OM-4T
Olympus OM-3Ti
OM Zuikos: 24/2.8, 50/1.4, 100/2, 200/4, 300/4.5.
Extra batteries and memory cards and a ton of B&W and color film.
Bags 2 and 3 - The 4/3 Kit and alternatives:
Olympus E-1
Olympus E-3
Panasonic DMC-L1
14-42 and 40-150 zoom lenses.
OM Zuikos: 28/2, 35/2.8, 100/2.8 and 35-80/2.8.
Tokina AT-X 100-300/4.
Olympus OM-2S
Motordrive 2.
T45 flash.
My primary bag will the 35mm kit. The 300/4.5 will swap out and not be
carried all the time, but may have one of the 4/3 bodies swapped in
for specific purposes. For example, when shooting the waterfalls, I
doubt I'll use the 300/4.5. Only the Bag 1 will go with my on a hike,
the others will stay planted inside the car.
There are a couple of planned shots that will require the E-1 and E-3.
The DMC L-1 also has a couple of specific shots planned for it too.
Otherwise, I would just simplify to a single bag and call it a day.
But when you have a vehicle handy, you just drag every option along.
:)
I looked over my inventory of 34mm film:
15+ rolls, Kodak B&W Infrared film, Kodak T-400CN B&W film, Kodak
Plus-X and Tri-X.
About 12 rolls of Kodak Portra 400 and FujichromeVelvia and Provia in
both ISO 100 and 400 speeds.
Decisions, decisions...
