For reasons I don't understand we've been very short of critters lately.
Except for a couple of 12" turtles the pond seems barren. The little
gators are long gone and I haven't seen a bird trying to fish there for
equally long. A month or two ago we had large numbers of dragon flies
but I saw only one today and he wasn't near my property. We used to
have an owl who did his best to keep us awake with his hooting. After a
long absence he appeared 2 nights ago but has already departed. Smaller
insects are not in abundance either thus my comment that the "cute
critter" has little available to eat. I hope they're all coming back soon.

A juvenile Carolina Anole (pronounced \ə-ˈnō-lē\). They're not
chameleons but can change color between bright green and brown. He/she
is green here to hide in the foliage.
Cute critter!
