Yep, I know the story behind Hoosier! A lot of people have reclaimed
derogatory words like that. Lower-class whites with ?redneck,¹ blacks with
the N-word, homosexuals with ?queer.¹ Takes away a mean word¹s power to
hurt when the victim embraces it!
