It wouldn't have mattered what I used. I never opened the file in any way until too late because I saw the user's manual as a separate downloadable file and never expected the ZIP file to contain anything but code.

I'm using 7Zip on my windows computers and when you have a .zip file, you

When there are just folders in the file as in the mentioned file, you can
double-click the folder and see what's in that folder etc.

You can extract the whole file or just the file and/or folders you choose,
so also a user manual.

A comment on the link below. Everything required (software, instruction
manuals and target images) is included in a single ZIP file. When you get
to that page you can see the download link as well as a link to the PDF
user's manual. I downloaded the ZIP file but didn't try opening it until I
had a chance to read the user's manual. The user's manual made mention of
another manual... the calibration chart shooting guide. I searched in vein
for that manual... even enlisting Googles help in searching Apple's site...
all to no avail.

Then I finally opened the ZIP file and discovered that, in addition to the
executable code, it creates 3 folders "calibration charts", "documentation"
and "sample images". The documentation folder contains all *3* (not 2)
documentation files. I wish Adobe would have explained this up front or at
least not put one of the 3 doc files in plain sight with the others hidden.

Where do you get the "profile creator"? And does this not resolve your

It only resolves it as long as we are using Adobe Lightroom or
Photoshop to apply the correction. And this correction is only
possible in post and is completely up to the user to generate and use
correctly.

The old saying "you date your camera, you marry your lenses" has never
been more untrue than it is today. Modern lenses are very much mated
to a very short series of cameras. The manufacturers lose interest in
the older lenses very rapidly. They are sold, no more money can be
extracted from the customer for them, so why bother? Especially since
there have been three new versions of the same lens produced since
then.

Meanwhile, I'm happy as I have a means of profiling lenses that are
older than me on the latest/greatest cameras of any brand/model.
