Not about self-driving exactly, but about self-braking.
Yesterday it was announced that our Dutch National Police force don't use
300 VW Touran type 3 cars with the City Emergency Brake system anymore.
When chasing criminals they are unable to push them of the road or even
come close enough, because the cars slow down when they are driving too
close to those they're chasing.
There is a manual override to disable the system, but it has to be done
every time they start the car.
Meanwhile it will take a few months to disable the system permanently,
because the police has to wait for VW to alter the software [and we all
know how good VW is with software]!
