In Hugh Thomas's seminal book "The Spanish Civil War" it is mentioned that the Bay of Sitges was a favourite place for the anarchists to execute those members of the bourgeoisie they had captured in Barcelona. Sitges has a dark past.

I was there within a couple of years of that Dharma.  I remember twiddling
the combination of a safe in the hotel where we stayed and being in trouble
