Thanks for the link, Mike. Of course, his numbers are based on full
frame, where I am limited to either 4/3 or APS-C, which cuts down on the
FL requirements. I have an adapter in the mail that should let me put
my 135 and 9.5mm tube on my Fuji. I have found that longer tubes are
too limiting in useful distance to the subject.
I think my Lady is as good as his, he just has less clutter. :-)

Very showy little beasty. Wish we had them 'round these parts. Thanks for

Curiously Adorama just sent out a link to a b'fly tutorial with B. Peterson.
He likes quite long zooms on extension--not a surprise.
He makes it look super easy. Note it is cool as he has a long sweater, he has
low angle nice light and perfect flowers as tall as he is. Also the Painted
Lady is not s super strong flier and very cooperative when rather cool.
Near wide open recommendation seems a bit odd, but the Nykon zoom may be slow.
I can confirm the Canyon close focusing 100-400 II on ext does a super job.
Occasionally I like shots with shorter FL as gives a better sense of place
and not a standard B'fly portrait look.
