His Moosiness should be proud of me. Not only do we have two Prius in
our household, but a rather efficient SUV of sporty tradition.
The Prius has the ground clearance of an electric shaver. Even
flattened squirrels have to be negotiated on the roads. If it's fresh
roadkill, it's too tall to go over.
The BMW X5 is the beast we drive most when we are going out of town.
We've been averaging just under 25,000 miles a year on it so far. It's
a solid vehicle and has been almost flawless. It's got 160,000 miles
on it that includes quite a bit of off-road shenanigans.
My idea of camping is backcountry free camping. If you have to pay to
stay, we usually avoid like the plague. There are exceptions, but
that's our preference. It does depend on where, though. It also
depends on access to what we want to see/photograph.
Speaking of such, anybody interested in going to Isle Royale next year?
