On a rainy morning, I thought about a subject for an indoor shoot and
recalled an object that has been replaced by the proliferation of lethal
weapons in recent years. This well-worn Colt Pocket Pistol, with an
enclosed hammer and nothing to snag, was a favorite of the underworld
during the Roaring 20s. It was available in both 32 and 38 calibers.
To my mind, it remains a classic design. As a young man, I could
field-strip it with no tools in less than a minute.
