No, this is not about being saddened in Panama. A tropical depression
formed yesterday southeast of Charleston and north of the Bahamas. It might
make it to tropical storm status early Sunday morning, but this cyclone is
pretty weak. It will arrive in Charleston on Sunday, weaken to a tropical
depression, then make a hard right turn to the north northeast when it comes up
against a cold front. It will then follow the coastline towards Cape Hatteras.
At worst there will be a bunch of inches of rain in the Carolinas. The
advancing cold front is not very vigorous, so severe storm activity is not a
serious threat.
