One of the professors I'm supporting is 83. He's been here at UC since
1961.... one year before I was born.
He offiically retired several years ago, but he wasn't done working, and
one of his demands if he accepted retirement was that he got to keep his
lab so that he and his partner could continue to do their research in
cellular biology.
He's a friendly guy, and I've helped him sort out a number of computer
issues. I just realized what a great photo opportunity.... so I asked him.
He agreed. Next week, I'm going over to his office. I'm going to try a
couple of shots with his cluttered desk behind him, and a couple in the lab
with equipment and stuff. I'll post the results here. He's got quite the
history - hundreds of published articles, is on the board of several
societies, is a fellow in a couple more, has endowed a lecture series here
as well.
