While I've never personally traveled to the Middle East, I have a
number of friends from that part of the world. On an individual basis,
I certainly agree. It is amazing how giving and caring every person is
when one-on-one. This is a bit different than the typical 'Merican.
However, in a group, there is a shift. I'm not sure if it's caused by
peer pressure or cultural group-think, but there is a shift. To put it
in perspective, though, there are other parts of the world where the
people aren't generous or hospitable as individuals OR in groups.
Boston comes to mind.
