Ah, I see what you mean. But as a generality, the XPro1 does reward a little
practice, not just (but especially!) in the various viewfinder options in
different focusing modes. Hmm, and then there's the XPro2 to consider....
Maybe I will revert to exotic (i.e. non-European) whiskies. Oh, no sorry, that
is a LUG not OM List topic :-)

Thanks, chum. I knew about the MF aids, but I was writing about refining focus
manually while in AF-S.
But the MF aids do need a little practice, so perhaps I’ll try that a bit more
(again).
I have been operating my Fujis with the area focus selected and it’s not that
satisfactory. I’ll revert to single point, I think, set as small as possible.
