But I would expect you and your machine shop to fashion a solution.
Depending on how deep the springs go on the front side of the pins I
think you might be able to machine 3mm off the backside.
On the other hand, maybe it's that spring action requirement on the pins
that makes the minimal depth of the tube 10mm.

BTW: Screwing together the end pieces of the 5-piece extension tube sets
results in a length of 15mm, which is of little value since it is longer than
the Vivitar. So, it seems for now that the only option available for a short
extension tube is the older OM series.
They're not hard to come by. On that same page is this Meike 10/16mm
set (that I own) for only $6 more than the single 10mm tube.
