The ones I served on were also WWII vintage, but converted Sub/Seaplane tenders. Shallow draft, for Pacific atolls, then
they put big, heavy steel structures on top for air search radar. Rolled worse than destroyers. Originally bought from
the Navy for $1 per ship. Returned later, when they got more real Cutters - and sunk in naval gun target practice.
