Chuck commented that this photo was sharp for a shot taken at 1/40
second.

Well, I
had the camera cushioned/held on the ground with my left hand - a live
bean-bag, so to speak, AND
of course the E-3 Image Stabilisation
process in the camera body works with ALL lenses, digital or not.
So,
provided I shot between wind gusts I had little to worry about.
I've
had sharp hand-held E-3 shots in other situations at 1/10 and 1/13 sec.
Chuck and others might be wondering why I didn't use the OM-D E-M5 I
bought from him. Well, when the battery ran out of juice I went to
recharge it, as I frequently do when this happens :-) It (the process)
didn't work.
I couldn't tell if it was the battery or the charger
which is faulty. My local Olympus stockist did not have either. He is
stocked from Olympus Australia, but there was no point in asking them
because Australia Post and Australian Couriers will NOT transport
Lithium batteries.
So I went on-line to see what I could find.
The
best deal was from a company called (if I recall correctly) Best Batt,
in New York. Two batteries and one charger for a good price. They sent
it with USPS and I was able to track it in the USA, starting at about 20
February. It still hasn't arrived. The company suggests that they
replace it with a fresh set, but I told them that problems in the postal
system were not created by Best Batt, and I didn't think that was fair.
I suggested to them that if the parcel has not arrived here by 30 April,
I will make a fresh order with them. And pay for it. So that is where
the matter stands.
Brian.
