Yes indeed! Learned about that book on this list--one of my fave
books--really learn the underlying principles of macro better than the later
books.
In regards to flash---TTL auto, shmauto; real macro men can do manual fill or
full flash if required. Only learn how in the first book mentioned.
One Monarch allowed me to do just that, but it was late afternoon and in the
low 50's and he wasn't moving much at all. Marnie was very puzzled how I could
take 5minutes to figure out how to do that, but the Monarch was very patient
(and cold).
